Subaru Viziv Concept

Think of the Subaru Viziv Concept as a peek into Subaru’s near future. The Subaru Viziv Concept uses Subaru’s 2.0-liter, turbodiesel engine in conjunction with two electric motors located in the rear. Combined with the handsome design and an interior that’s rather car-show-specific, the Subaru Viziv Concept is an intreaguing idea from a company known for rather somber future designs. This is pretty evident when you look at the newest Subaru Forester.

There is some conjecture as to what Subaru will be the first vehicle to receive some of the new exterior and interior hints that adorn the Subaru Viziv Concept. It’s my opinion that either the Subaru Tribeca or its replacement will get a taste of the Subaru Viziv Concept’s aesthetics. You can rear that post (here).

Here’s all the info I could dig up from Subaru.

“Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, today announced that it will exhibit the “SUBARU VIZIV CONCEPT” as a world premiere at the 83rd Geneva International Motor Show (Press day: March 5 and 6; Open to the public from March 7 through 17, 2013).

In addition, FHI will introduce the world premiere of the Subaru Outback carrying the Subaru Boxer Diesel with Lineartronic (CVT). It will also exhibit the all-new Subaru Forester to make its European show debut.

“SUBARU VIZIV CONCEPT” represents a direction of new designs and new technologies enhancing the Subaru brand into the future. It is a future-generation crossover concept embodying the brand value of “Enjoyment and Peace of Mind”. The “VIZIV” model name is a coined word inspired by the phrase “Vision for Innovation”. It expresses a future vision for innovation, and a concept car suggesting the brand’s direction.” – - Subaru Media

So, should you expect to see the Subaru Viziv Concept pop into showrooms in the next few year?

Don’t hold your breath. Still, there is a good chance that Subaru is eyeing ways to make their expensive research with the 2-liter diesel pay off. There is an even better chance you’ll see a significantly mellowed take on the Subaru Viziv Concept design incorporated into near-future Subaru designs.

Check out Roman’s video of the all new Subaru Forester!

I think I like the looks of the last Forester more than this one. LOVE the look of the Subaru Viziv Concept! What do you think?
